Happy Birthday Daddy...

Today Daddy turned the big 2-9. WOW! We commented this morning about the days when 30 sounded so old. Now that we are on the cusp of it, 30 doesn't sound old at all. Amazing how your perspective changes with time. Sorry...I digress...

PARTY PLANNING: I had to make a Friday 10 PM run to the party store for party balloons. At our house, there can't be a party without balloons and Daddy's birthday is no exception. I did make it without having to string streamers across the kitchen. That was J.'s compromise.

THE PARTY BEGINS: We decided not to make a birthday cake since we knew Daddy had one yesterday at work and he was also having one tonight. On Friday J. and I made muffins to be used as a birthday cake. To start the day, Daddy got to sleep in until 7:30 AM. Mommy tried to convince J. to let Daddy sleep longer but J. wasn't having it. It was time to PAR-TAY! So, off we went to sing Happy Birthday to Daddy (who had one eye open). Off to the kitchen we went for the party. Note the candles in the blueberry and strawberry muffins in the shape of a D. Bet ya can't guess what the "D" is for. We all sang Happy Birthday and enjoyed a muffin together (even MG).

LATER THAT DAY: We went to Nana and Grandaddy's house for Daddy's favorite "Nana dinner" and birthday cake. It was a great time and as always...Nana made a fantastic meal for all.
